Mike Diamond Plumbing, Inc., The smell good plumber, who the Los Angeles Business Journal has called “L.A.’s most famous plumber” recently announced the launch of a scholarship program for students enrolled in the plumbing technology program at WyoTech, a trade school with campuses across the United States.
“We are very happy to provide these scholarships,” says James Thompson, VP of Mike Diamond Plumbing, Inc. “It is a way that we can contribute to the education of the students. We have always been very committed to the plumbing industry. We enjoy a good relationship with WyoTech and also sit on their Plumbing Advisory Board,” Thompson added.
The scholarships are $1000.00 each and are awarded every quarter to a different student at the Long Beach Campus. Recipients are selected by the instructors at WyoTech’s Plumbing Technology program and based upon the students GPA, class participation and best overall performance in the class.
“Mike Diamond Plumbing is a wonderful partner with WyoTech in providing students with the education they need to be successful in the field and a great example to the students of what community involvement is all about,” says Howard Jessup, Long Beach Campus President for WyoTech.
WyoTech’s plumbing program is a 9 month program. The students apply for the scholarship and the recipient is selected in month 5. The award is given approximately in month 7 at an awards assembly at the end of each plumbing program.
